When Provision Arrives on an Ordinary Tuesday

Sometimes, when people ask me how I survived leaving my past life and starting over from scratch, they expect a story of brilliant strategy or self-reliance.

The truth is much simpler: I survived because I am backed by a very generous God.

When my daughters and I first returned to rebuild our lives, we had almost nothing to our name—just three laptops packed inside our luggage and a heart full of hope.

In those early days, whenever a tuition deadline approached or an unexpected bill landed on my desk, that familiar knot would twist in my stomach while I made breakfast or calculated numbers on my laptop.

Before, panic used to overtake me. But somewhere along this healing journey, a quiet shift happened inside my heart. Now, when worry tries to crowd my mind, I pray. I lay every bill, every tuition statement, and every fear directly at the feet of God.

And He has never once disappointed us.

God’s provision didn’t always come in obvious ways, but it always arrived right on time.

There were times when a tuition installment was due, and an insurance policy I had paid years ago—and completely forgotten about—suddenly matured, landing a check in my hands right when we needed it most.

There were birthdays when I didn’t even have enough in my budget to buy a decent cake for my daughters, and out of nowhere, family or friends would send not just a cake, but pasta, chicken, and a whole feast to our table.

And then there was the client work.

I remember a season when I was scouring for work, sending cold pitches and proposals to as many as ten companies every single day. I emailed what felt like half of the UK! Most went unanswered, and some even replied with a polite, “Please remove us from your contact list.” Even then, I would smile and think: At least my email didn’t hit a blank wall. It reached a real person.

And then, right when the deadline felt closest, God would send the most wonderful clients. Not just any work, but kind, respectful people I truly enjoy working with. Today, I make it a point to pray for my clients and their businesses, asking God to help me be an asset to them, the same way their trust has been a lifeline for my family.

Looking back, I realize that when we pray and don’t get an immediate answer, it doesn’t mean God is saying no.

Sometimes, He is simply teaching us patience. Sometimes, He is using the waiting season to prepare us, so that when the blessing finally arrives, we have the wisdom and humility to steward it well.

Standing here today—with my household stable, tuition cleared, and peace in our home—every time I pay a bill, my heart overflows with a quiet, profound gratitude.

I don’t worry about tomorrow anymore. Not because my responsibilities have suddenly vanished, but because I know who holds my future.

If you are currently sitting at a kitchen table, looking at numbers that don’t add up and wondering how you will make it through this month, take a deep breath. Do the work in front of you, lay your worries down, and trust.

You don’t have to carry the weight of the world on your shoulders. You are held by a God whose generosity is far greater than your fears.

Thank you for spending a few quiet moments here.

May you leave carrying a little more hope than when you arrived.

With love,
